*****ulent Debt review application

On the 22.05.2024 after 17h00 while I was driving home from work, I received call from Bulelwa who is a Sales Consultant at Debt Help. She indicated that her company is contacting all South African Consumers who are paying very high interest rates to assisting with reducing the interest we are paying. This would reduce it and fix it. She indicated that this is an NCR initiative of about 2 years ago. I had some questions on how they would be able to reduce interest on already agreed instalment payments? She then called her supervisor whose name I cannot recall, however, the sales recording can assist in this regard. I then bought this story as I was looking forward to my interest rates to be reduced and fixed and thereby decreasing the monthly instalments, meaning saving on my side. It is upon receiving written communication that I realized that I was falsely put into Debt Review which is not what I had requested. There is no way that I would apply for Debt Review while I am cooping and managing my finances so well. This debt review application was camouflaged as something else. There is nowhere in the call that debt review was mentioned and now retrospectively I know why they did not, as they were up to no good. I then written back to everyone that had sent me communication to inform them that I am not applying for debt review and whatever process they are embarking on, should be stopped with immediate effect. These include My bank STD Bank, Nedbank, Infusion Insurance, I Docs and Debt Help themselves. At Debt Help addressed my communication to their CEO Liam Owies. It took days for them to even acknowledge me communication and when they did, I spoke to Mishka who promised that they will stop the process and send me proof of such. This did not happen and yesterday and I had followed up on more than one occasion, still I have not received any communication from them. In the meantime, my STD bank credit facility has been deactivated due to this process. I started querying tis on the 31.05.2024 and it is now the 06.06.2024 and I have received no help at all.
