Debt Help Corn Artists Company - ****mers

They sell wrong information over the phone. They said they are a debt restructuring company and not a debt review one, they position their story as if they were offering me reduced interest rates on my instalments. I asked them over and over again of the cons of this product and they said there was none. They then froze all my accounts, when I want to cancel their product they want me to pay R8000 as a cancellation fee. The cool off period is not specified in the contract,however they want the money upfront while they’ve frozen all my saving from all the banks.

I’m disappointed that my bank STD bank is in partnership with such ****mers and enable the activation of these products via their app, but cannot help when you want to cancel them.

I asked their consultant to cancel my account asap and want to go over the telephone recording, was told that many people experience the same and the recordings have never assisted the customers previously. I asked the corn artist that sold me this product if they won’t touch my money and she said no, also asked if this won’t affect me getting credit from other institutions and she said no. However those calls don’t even protect us , customers. I’m very disappointed with this false information they provide and the inconvenience of freezing my accounts and then demand R8000 as a pre payment for a cancellation form.

Can banks also protect us from such. NCA didn’t pick up the phone the entire day to assist but they are supposed to help protect the consumers
