Concerns Regarding Workmanship and Material Durability

I engaged the service provider to carry out work on the construction of a vegetable garden and related structures.

Unfortunately, my experience raised concerns regarding both workmanship and long-term durability.

The vegetable garden structures have begun to deteriorate within a relatively short period of time. Some *****s and fixings used do not appear to be stainless steel, despite my understanding at the time. When concerns were raised, silicone was app**** over certain fixings; however, visible rusting has continued, and sections of the structure are already loosening. The latch hardware is also showing signs of corrosion.

There were also discrepancies between what was agreed and what was installed. For example, a plastic tap was initially fitted instead of the agreed brass tap, which I had to request be corrected.

During the course of the work, access to the property occurred at a time when I was not present and without prior arrangement, which was later acknowledged in correspondence. This raised concerns for me, particularly given the presence of animals on my property.

In addition, the potting table and vegetable boxes appear to have been constructed using untreated wood, which is already showing signs of deterioration. This was based on guidance provided at the time regarding material selection.

Overall, the standard of workmanship and material choices did not meet expectations, particularly given the cost of the project.

Based on my experience, I would recommend exercising caution before engaging this service provider. This matter has been referred to my attorney, and appropriate steps are being considered to address the issues.
