Deans Motors Spares

I would like to lodge a formal complaint against a JHB South based Motor spares. To cut a long story short I was refused a refund due to the fact that it was written on their cash slip that any items they issue correctly will no be refunded.

The problem starts here, I walked into the Motor spares to purchase and item which was wrong to begin with. Returned to let them know that the item was wrong and they helped me get the correct item which was of a smaller size however I was charger the exact same amount which I found odd, so much that I asked and they informed me they were the same price.

The lady who was assisting me advised me to look for another component of the item I was purchasing at a s**** yard.

I took her advise and managed to get the full item with the support component at a nearby s**** yard and had the item fitted.

I then went back to the store where I was hoping to get a refund to my surprise I was pointed to my cash slip where indeed the stores no refund policy is printed in black and white and in English.

My grievance is the fact that I went into that spares about 4 times, and only when I returned to ask for a cash back was pointed to the cash slip. I didn’t look around the store so wouldn’t know if its written somewhere. Is it legal that its only in English had I not known how to read and write what then. Had they not had stock what then.

I was told by someone I presume is the manager that they use this policy as they sell pirate parts so to them its more important to get things out of the store than to run a business based on integrity.

Lets not even start with the attitude I got from both the lady at the teller and the gentlemen who claimed to be the manager.

I would like your assistance regarding this as it was probably one of the most aweful customer experiances I have had to endure over R120 I know its nothing however the experience I got from that store makes it feel like a million to me.
