DAMAGES CAUSED TO CAR BY DCG INSTALLING NEW GLASS

DCG Johannesburg office replaced my Ford Everest front windscreen, they were appointed by my insurance broker. Two gentleman from DCG arrived at my home, I left them to fit it and went into my study for an online meeting. I then came outside a few hours later, they were gone and had fitted my windscreen and secured it with brown duct tape , they had attached pieces of duct tape which ran from the top of the windscreen onto my roof paint work. I thought this strange as I have never seen duct tape used before, normally glass fit companies had used masking tape. The next day I tried to remove the duct tape but it was stuck solid to my paint...I then decided to wait a few days thinking when I wash my car on a Sunday it would loosen the duct tape and peel off easily...this was not the case it was stuck solid to my paint work...after a few weeks I then began to notice the paint on my roof peeling off in large strips around where the duct tape had been app****. I called my insurance to advise them. They in turn requested photos from DCG, no photos where provided as they stated they don't keep photos for very long. They where however able to provide lots of photos of other cars....but not mine. All the photos of the other cars where KZN number plates and none in Gauteng. I called the DCG owner both Mr Trump and Craig (KZN Regional Manager) I was promised a call back (never got it) instead I called back a number of times only to be told they don't have pictures of my vehicle and there staff claim to never have used duct tape. Both myself , my husband and elderly mother where witness to the duct tape used. I took my vehicle to a well known panel beater in Johannesburg for his opinion , the owner himself of the panel shop attested that there was no other damage to the roof of my vehicle and that it was still in ''factory' condition and that in his opinion the peeling paint could only be a direct result of the use of duct tape. DCG refuse to take any responsibility in the damages they have caused and as a result I have to pay my excess for damages not caused by myself but by DCG.
