A day before yesterday I got sick and went to see aGP who transferred me to the hospital. I was picked up by an ambulance. We arrived and everything went well. The ambulance crew left. The second day I was kicked like a dog by the hospital saying I don't have funds. That was very shocking to me. I pleaded with them to call my insurer. In the wee hours, 02:00 they said they needed their bed. I had to leave. Breathing difficulty, swollen and in pains. I didn't know where to go but I went. On my way to the police station I ****** by some ****s taking all my belongings. During that, I saw a taxi coming towards us and the ****s flee but at least I had my cellphone. I hired a car to drop me at home in Mt Frere and had to pay R2000. I'm home. Sick. The insurer is telling tales. Kindly assist.

Please be advised that an ambulance was dispatched as it was deemed to be an emergency.

Upon receipt of the pre-authorisation form from the hospital, however, it was noted that the attending GP’s diagnosis was in respect of the same condition for which you were hospitalised in March and, again, in May 2024.

Please note that, in terms of the Section 2.19 of the policy wording - “ A recurrence of any Illness will only be considered a separate Illness if 6 (six) months have elapsed from the date of onset of the preceding Illness” – and, as all benefits had previously been depleted as regards this specific condition, we were, unfortunately, not able to authorise the claim.

We may confirm that the above was disclosed to you telephonically at point of sale as well as in writing via your electronic Welcome Pack that was emailed to you.
