HORRIBLE SERVICE AT DAWN WING COURIERS

My item arrived at customs(Waybill no. ********** 0792)on the 14th of July and was send an invoice by Dawn Wing couriers on the 18th of July but i noticed that my item should have not been charged custom duties so i contacted them, they said my item arrived in the country with a value of 30 pounds and i explained to the lady in charge of international customs billing that i paid 27 pounds for the item and even send her the invoice for the parcel but she refused to assist me, i then suggested that they open the parcel and check for the invoice inside it which will serve as proof but she refused so my parcel has been stuck at customs ever since the 19th of July 2017 for refusing to pay for custom duties caused by the incorrect value of the item caused by the Courier company/shop. This is my last option to get assistance.

Good Afternoon Kagiso,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately goods that arrive into the country in excess of R500 have to
be formally customs cleared through SARS Customs and Excise when goods are
moved through any courier service. Further to this, any item of clothing or
shoes will attract a high percentage of custom duty as per the customs act,
and in addition Customs impose the necessary import vat on the item. The
clearance fees charged by Dawn Wing are the standard fees charged for the
clearance and compliance with SARS for the imports into ZA. When purchasing
items from eCommerce websites most of this information is declared in the
terms and conditions of carriage or FAQ by the supplier for your review.

Our international department will contact you directly to explain the procedure further.

Kind regards,

Dawn Wing
