Dawn Wing does not deliver

I ordered a ladder online, it was marked that it would be delivered. Adverts said that deliveries over R1000 was free but I got charged R350. It being a big long item i thought it fair so placed the order. After a week I got a message that it was out for delivery. From Durban to me is normally the next day 2 at most . after 4 days it was still with the courier in Durban. I phone Makro - I was promised that they would follow up and get back to me. no one phoned next day I got hold of someone at Dawn wing, they say the ladder is too long to come on their normal vans it needs to go to Makro. I then had to get Dawn wing to make contact with Makro to send it back . Phoning Makro still ended up with empty promises. Week and a half later the ladder was with Value logistics, in Harrysmith, it had cone past my front door to a place as far from me as Durban. there it staid for a week, After phoning Makro every day I was promised delivery on Wednesday, even arranged for me to stay open late so that they can deliver after hours. it never came. After several phone calls the next day and promises to phone me back I got no phone calls form Makro but some independent courier delivered my ladder strapped on top of a normal van (the same size van that Dawn wing said could not deliver) . The independent courier told me it was lying in Harrysmith or a week he saw it every time he picked up so why wait a week before it went out. Shame on Makro, Dawn wing and Value Logistics for a chain of poor service.
