Typical contractor

My fiance and I recently purchased a house that needed renovating before we could move in. We obtained a quote from Dawie Greyling Construction for work to be done inside as well as outside. The quote indicated that payment needed to be made in 3 installments, the last installment of R50 000.00 to be made on completion of the work. He has taken 2 months to do work on the inside of the house and is stll not finished. He has not started work on the outside but has demanded his final installment which we obviously refused. He has subsequently packed up his tools and left. We are now left with incomplete renovations and a budget that won't be enough to cover what still needs to be done. Be careful of this man. We suspect that he would have left with our money if we had paid him the rest prior to completion!
