SEWAGE LEAKS NOT FIXED AFTER 5 MONTHS

On 22 August 2016 Annalene, working at Rawson Properties Upington (telephone number ********** 333) contacted me to ask permission for Van der Steen Pomp & Pyp (plumbers) (telephone number ********** 532) to enter my yard at 49 Rossouw Ave, Upington to fix a blockage in the sewage line of a neighbour at 102 Ds Aubrey Beukes Street. A hole is being made and also a hole in the main sewage line running in my yard. Afterwards there were no news about the work as well as fixing the hole in the main line. At end and last Annalene let me know that the plumber is waiting for a pipe to fix the problem. On 1 December 2016 workers of the Dawid Kruiper Municipality (telephone number ********** 000) fetched the key, for access to my yard, from the neighbour in connection with the hole in the main sewage line. They only had a look at the problem and left. From 5 – 14 December 2016 I spent every day contacting Annelene and also mr John Pita at the municipality. Eventually the board member at the municipality, mr Senzo; as well as mr John Pita came to my yard on 8 December 2016 to investigate the problem. Mr Senzo promised that the problem will be resolved before 18h00 on 8 December 2016. Just before 18h00 mr Pita whatsapped me to tell me that they will need a high pressure pump to clean the main sewage line from my neighbour’s premises at 175 Schroder Street. I went to make the arrangement with my neighbour in advance. Friday morning I let mr Pita know that the neighbour will be at home and the workers of the municipality can go straight to work. Mr Pita let me know that they have a flat tyre. Nothing happened thereafter. I whatsapped mr Pita and Annalene everyday, but Annalene always asked whether mr Senzo called me, which never happened. Mr Pita let me know on 14 December 2016 that the municipal teams are not working anymore and that I have to give him some time to make a plan. . . No plan came to light. The sewage water is filling the yard already and 2 of the trees are dying. Removing those trees when the are dead will cost me a few thousand rand which the municipality will not reimburse. I kept record op each and every conversation between me, Annalene, Mr Senzo and Mr Pita. A summary of the conversation was made. I also sent an email, stating my problem, to the director of Dawid Kruiper Municipality in which I attached the record of the conversations as well as some photos. I also filed a formal complaint at the municipal offices attaching the photos, the mail to the director as well as this complaint at Hello Peter. The mail to the director is also CC-ed to two local newspapers.
