If you are a mother and have an emergency with your child, please avoid Davidsonville clinic.

It it with a heavy heart to write this review regarding Davidsonville clinic. Having moved into the area recently, I have always received fair service at Davidsonville clinic until the last two consultations where my son was involved.

The previous instance left a sour taste in my mouth when the nurse at hand insisted that I do not care about my child's health due to the severity of his asthmatic symptoms and congested chest. Mind you, I was in the queue for almost three and a half hours until a lady next to me asked that I report the case as an emergency. I did so and was suddenly assisted with no dignity at all, as the nurse imp**** that I am a bad mother thought out our stay there. I kept my mouth shut and respected her as a professional.

Today, my son had another asthmatic/ allergic attack and I used my last money to Uber to the clinic. Mind you, I am currently unemployed. I arrived at 15:45 and there were about four nurses at the reception (male and female) who upon my family's arrival, started grabbing their handbags leaving an unsaid impression that they could not assist us.

I was vocal about the situation and asked where the compassion was for my son, the patient. I was met by very rude responses from the same nurses, including the one who had assisted me when my son was previously sick. She told me that the last time I was at the clinic she had told me to go to Discovery clinic the next time my son has the same issue.

I am writing this review at Discovery hospital after being told to leave, as I was "too late" to be assisted at Davidsonville clinic at exactly 15:45.

The manner in which all this happened was without dignity and compassion. I literally begged for my son to get assistance.

I would advise the clinic/ nursing manager to look into such incidents as they unfortunately go against the eight Batho Pele principles: 1. Consultation 2. Service standards 3. Access 4. Courtesy 5. Information 6. Openess 7. Transparency 8. Redress 9. Value for Money
