I am an international student from South Africa here to do a doctorate in Organizational Leadership. I study at Pepperdine University at the West LA campus and felt strongly discriminated against when hoping to grab a drink and food at the bar in Dave & Busters. I have been here for only 6 months and have been really looking forward to trying out Dave & Busters as it is across the street from campus. To my disappointment, as my friend and I (a local) were ordering drinks, the lady asked for my ID, I gave them foreign ID (which I had used everywhere else around LA) and with dissatisfaction with that form of identification and upon calling the manager gave them a corresponding drivers license which I also use here often. The manager explained that he cannot accept these forms of ID because they didn't 'describe me'. This is concerning for an international on many levels
