False Advertising when booking
Daruma was always one of my favourite restaurants esp the DBN branch but this branch falsely advertises. When you book “private room” its not actually private. My family and I had a horrible experience. There were 7 of us planning to celebrate a family occasion. When we got there on time there were other people in the room. The manager proceeded to tell us that we needed to pay an additional R500 if we wanted to be alone in the private room. It was a Saturday evening and we had no where else to go. No one had phoned us pior to our booking to let us know that if we are under a certain number that we had to pay an additional fee. What’s worse is that this is no where in writing, not on the website, not when you book and no one will inform you before you get there. They will just thumb suck a number of people needed to be in the room for it to be private with no charge. The manager eventually voided the bill after a long argument. The room should be advertised as semi private or at least the customer should be contacted before getting there.
