Bakkie builder

To everyone out there, please think twice before considering this man as your building contractor for the following reasons:

1. He is a one-man-band with a bakkie, he himself does not so much as touching on brick, he just gets Tom, **** and Harry to do it all, oh and don't forget the guy standing at the robot begging for work who then becomes the painter.

2. He said he knows everything about installing a fireplace, then all the smoke came out at the bottom instead of at the chimney. To top it off, he then says it is not his fault

3. He said he worked for years at a company that installed roofs and that the roofs that he puts on will never leak. Then with the first rainy season, the roof leaked in the garage, the main bedroom and the office. But wait for it, he said its not his fault. I had to get the NHBRC to force him to fix the leaks.

4. Then the first summer comes, and the heat is so unbearable inside that its better to sit outside. Low and behold, he charged me for insulation as on the plan but never installed it and did not make a manhole so one can enter the roof. He also did not want to open the tiles so we can inspect the roof because he reckons that I will loose my "guarantee". No surprise when we opened the roof we discovered that there was no insulation even though he charged me double of what the price really is. Then when caught out, he told me that the sisilation is the insulation. Really does he think Im that stupid, no wait its him that is that stupid !! Again, I had to get the provincial NCC and the NHBRC involved to get him to install it.

5. The sisilation paper was not even installed properly and we had to fix that at the same time the roof leaks were fixed. There were also various lengths ranging from 30cm to 2m off-cuts of metal strips which was banging around in the roof when the wind blew, which we also had to take out while fixing the roof leaks

6. Then Inspect-a-Home inspected the house and realised that all the windows were not installed correctly and that not only would it eventaully leak but anyone could just lift it out. He refused to get all the subcontractors back, Inspect-a-home and I had to get them back. They spent another 3 days having to remove the windows, broke some in the process and then having to replace it the right way.

7. Throughout the building process he as the builder was supposed to take out building insurance and then the Bank caught him out, not having it in place. When the Bank had to force him to put it in place, he told them that I should pay for it.- ha ha what a joke, he really is that stupid !!!

8. Then with every invoice there are mistakes, and when he realises that he made mistakes on his quote, he blows up like a bull-frog and take it out on you as the owner

... And the list goes on.... and on... and on ... and on ...

Point is, he blames everybody else for his mistakes and does not take ownership of anything that goes wrong

Moral of the story - DO NOT MAKE USE OF THIS MAN, get a real professional not a bakkie builder !!
