Keep away! Damelin Online will rob you!

Last year (2019) my wife app**** to study at Damelin Online and paid for her studies for the year in advance. This was a step to better our futures and those of our children and we were overly excited. After payment, it all changed. First off, the portal for her was blank. The study portal is supposed to contain study material, assistive material, and exam dates. No information was on it regarding what she was studying or when the exams were. Only her name and surname. After many calls and emails we still had no answers. And it was many calls and many emails. Secondly, her study material only arrived after 5 months. She did her best to try and study as her portal was still blank and with more calls (daily) no one could tell her or myself what and when the exams will be and either received the response of “I’m so sorry to hear that, we will get back to you before the end of the day” or “sorry, this is the wrong department. Let me try and put you through to the correct one” endless loop. We even spoke to a gentleman that was in apparently in upper management and was promised some answers. Never heard from him again and could never get hold of him again. Exhausted with frustration, we finally gave up and wrote Damelin off as a bad experience and requested a cancellation and refund. We were finally, after 2 weeks, were sent some cancellation forms and sent them in (22 July 2019). Nothing ever came form that either. After many calls again we were left with no answers, no refund and no one that can tell us who to speak to. For our own mental wellbeing, my wife and I decided to let this go and move on with our lives. Early in 2020 we received an SMS saying that we owe Damelin Online money for the Exams. We tried to call in and resolve it, but no one ever answered or called us back. We then sent some emails to the indicated email address but also received no response. A few months went by until we started receiving SMS’s again stating that we have been handed over due to non-payment. We then tried to get hold of the accounts department again but also to no avail. We sent emails to the indicated email address on the “Hand-Over” SMS stating our case but never received a reply. We finally sent an email, with the assistance of a legal advisor, stating the case again and ending that if we do not receive a reply, we will consider the case resolved. We are still receiving SMS’s stating that we have been handed over and threatening legal action. With the basics of what happened, there are a few things to note. During the initial fight to get study material and information on the blank portal, we have come into contact with MANY other people that has had similar experiences with Damelin Online. None of them has ever gotten anywhere and eventually gave up and wrote their money off. HeloPeter is full of these stories as well as Facebook. After giving this up as a bad experience and writing the money off ourselves, we are being harassed for R450.00 in exams fees. This triggered me to now fight back. I now want my money back. All of it.
