Harrassed For An Amount I Do Not Owe 3 Years Later

On Wednesday the 26th of September I for the very first time received a call from an MBD recovery agent stating that I owe Damelin College an amount of R953,00 for an examination which I apparently wrote after handing in a sick note. Today it was followed by a text claiming that they had been repeatedly been requesting this amount from me! This debt was apparently accrued by me in the year 2015.

What is shocking is that I to my knowledge had paid Damelin College in full as I due had advised them that due to personal issues I would not be continuing the course and the accounts administrator then gave me the entire balance which I settled in FULL on THAT DAY. I even went in person to do this. In addition, I went to thank the staff who had assisted me so wonderfully during my time with the college, therefore I am certain that this amount is fabricated as I had left before the exam was even written.

I am most disappointed as I had such a wonderful experience from your Cape Town Campus staff who were nothing but supporting during my trying time, so much so that several of my colleagues have since attended your campus due to my referral.

I regret having to post a negative post regarding the college as it is a wonderful facility with great staff, but to falsely claim that I now owe you money after 3 years is disgusting. I will not be claiming this debt and will be reporting the matter to the Ombudsman as I have email correspondence verifying my termination well in advance. Also should you decide now to want to charge me for an exam I failed to write is deemed invalid as per the National Credit Act. Please do your homework and read up on prescribed debt. Damelin you should be ashamed to sell false debt to these recovery agents because all you end up doing is tarnishing a good name your staff work so hard to build.

I expect that this will be removed from my credit record and MBD will halt it's unnecessary harrasment of me.
