Don't go to Damelin

Please help log a complaint regarding the management and campus conditions at Damelin Port Elizabeth.

. I am a sponsor for one of the students doing the IT Technical Support certificate. This programme has been an absolute disaster. Nothing that was promised on the programme was delivered.

Here is the list of my grievances:

1. There was no lecture for the first term of the year. Absolutely no classes were conducted, but we were expected to pay.

2. The lecturer they eventually got in the second semester is someone with no experience as an educator.

3. This new lecturer they got (0 experience and not so qualified) is lecturing all the modules for this programme. Only 1 person is expected to support all the students for all the modules.

4. 80% of classes that were on the timetable were cancelled with no valid reason.

5. There were no practical classes conducted.

6. No preparation and support for exams.

7. The English lecturer tried to **** one of the students for almost R1000 - R2000 on a lie. Saying that he needed to pay a fee in order to submit a POE at SAQA.

8. My account statements are incorrect. There are some ***** activities happening.

9. The campus has no electricity because of unpaid municipal bills.

Damelin is absolutely a trash institution that has no interest in educating its students.
