Damelin wasting Students’ time with no care for their future

Damelin Menlyn is wasting our kids’ time and our money. In this day and age, with such a high rate of suicides by young adults, a Democratic country still has a College that does not take its student’s education serious. We as parents, try our best to do what is right by our kids, inly to be met by a college that does not have the kids’ best interests at heart... though they are quick to demand and threaten you for fees payments.

If there’s anyone out there who can assist with reporting this Institution so that some higher power can take action please help...

Problems:

1. One of my kids registered for a course that requests a pass rate of only 65%, and if they fail one module, they repeat the whole course. She passed with 63,53 & 53 but was told she has failed. To make things worse, she was then asked to fill in new Registration Forms because she was not on the system and they cannot invoice her. They said that a previous Student Advisor failed to register her in January and they cant find her file. Registration fee was paid and other monthly fees and they appear on the statement but still they say she is nit registered. 2. My Son completed a Project Management Course in 2019. He was supposed to get his certificate this year. Damelin has been mum about the progress and when asked about this... students are told that they are waiting for the assessment committee. Its been 9 months now. As a parent, emails and calls were made to Damelin Menlyn with no luck. This is frustrating. He is currently registered for a 3 year Diploma at the same college and i am afraid the same thing will happen and he would have wasted 3 years.

I am thinking of taking both kids out and demand refund for all fees paid, using legal assistance where possible. But i am afraid i will be ignored like the many other complainants i have read about.

Is Damelin really a College for future growth as they advertise... i don't think so. And it seems like no one has taken them to account from Umalusi or the Department.

I would like to understand what kind of incompetency this College has and why they keep trying to destroy our kids’ future like this. We work hard for this money and we try to be good compliant citizens but for a parent to watch their kid struggle with education like this... it is really disheartening and cruel of them.

Anyone... please assist in this regard. I have send countless emails to Damelin Menkyn and Head Office but no feedback. I have even send emails to the DoE and the Education Ombudsman. I am getting frustrated and it is not nice seeing a kid who has worked hard for a certificate being ignored like this and not given what is due to them.
