Shocking and Disgusting Ethical Business Practice

<p> I have had the most aweful experience with this rental agency. After months of sending emails and making phone calls regarding a terrible leak in my kitchen, eventually they send someone out to fix it but not really fix it also. To make matters worse, the geyser is situated in the kitchen and this dampness caused a disgusting ****roach problem that did not want to go away no matter how many times i fumigated, at my own expense! Now after i have vacated the premises, i get a breakdown of my refund of my deposit and i see that they have charged me R3420 for repainting, R228 for fumigation and R580 for 4 days rental after i vacated! My lease agreement and notice to vacate clearly state that all i have to do upon vacating is wipe down/wash the walls - NOTHING about being responsible for repaining. Also as my flat was sold and not being rented again, the selling agent made it clear to me that i was not responsible for any such repainting. I have lodged my complaint with the Rental Housing Tribunal and am wanting to consult a lawyer. I thought i would give them the courtesy that they have not shown me and wait for a reply, BUT my emails go unanswered and my phone calls ignored!!!!</p>
