Daleglen Property Group - WORST company (landlord) to rent from in South Africa

I'm shocked to see that 8K people like this company on Facebook. Probably the staff and their family.

This is the WORST company to rent from. It took forever for them to fix stuff. Some stuff were still not attended to when we moved out almost 3 years later. We paid for access controlled parking,but the gate was always broken - resulting in 4 break-ins. Every time you report it to Daleglen, they claim it is the first they hear of the broken gate - despite sending them a long trail mail of complaints

Fern Knight is the rudest person and no matter what your complaint she just says "if you don't like it then move". You're not doing your tenants a favor, Fern! It's your job! If something is broken, you are bound by a lease agreement to fix and maintain it.

Then the deposit! When we moved, Daleglen deducted R 2850 to " repaint" the flat AFTER we painted it ourselves. They provided no explanation as to the deduction until I nagged them about it for days when they finally stated they utilized the amount for re-painting - despite them signing off on the exit-inspection that all was in a good condition.

I have photographic evidence and 2 witnesses that the apartment was painted and in a better condition than when we moved in in 2015. I am currently in the process of taking legal action against this company to get my money back

I would NEVER advise even my worst enemy to rent from this company.
