Poor journalism by Daily Maverick

On June 22 I sent an urgent message for help to Daily Maverick, in regard to a worker of mine begin messed around by Home Affairs. I addressed it to lady who effectively advertised in a column how she helped people encountering government inertia. I also mentioned that the person has two children to take care of, and he often has no money for food or electricity, as he can’t even draw a backlog of SASSA money as he has no ID. When the new ID was issued, because the old one’s barcode wouldn’t scan any more, his ID number had been switched to a female classification. He resubmitted the ID on April 23, and has been waiting since. I also mentioned that “his depression levels are getting dangerous.” Evidently this is not important enough for Daily Maverick to deliver the message in the first place (after hearing nothing after a week, I resent my email). I was then told by email that there was an oversight In delivering the message. Now 10 days later I still have had no response. Rather poor show Daily Maverick, that purports to act against government stupidity and *******ion. Prof W A Richter.
