Treehouse Riverlodge in Hillcrest

<p>An unpleasant experience.<br />Be careful of these special deals. I have always used Groupon deals and have never had an bad experience. However, I cant say the same for Daddy's deals and worse is you don't have any recourse to anyone.</p> <p>On 17 December we booked into a place called Tree house River lodge for 4 nights. On arrival we were told the TV doesn't work which we said was fine and then when we were shown our self-catering unit no 3, were told that the freezer's seal does not work properly but it still works.</p> <p>When I tried to pack our stuff into the freezer it was completely frozen up and I could not even get one tray out. Instead of slepping all the way back to the main house I phoned the owner/manager - Sue who told me there is nothing she could do and I said something has to be done as what were we suppose to do with all our fridge goods. She told me she would send her mother (This lady is +- 60 years). Her mother came and looked at it and apologized and said she agrees it is unacceptable and cleaned it in such a way that we could use 2 trays. We thanked her for her effort. I checked the linen and towels and as that was clean we said ok lets just make the best of it. Had a lovely braai etc. Next morning we overslept for breakfast and was woken up by a very irritated Sue. David went up to the main house and apologized for not being in time for breakfast and that she should not worry about it and we will pay for it. She then said she was upset about me calling her about the fridge and that I was rude to her and I was upsetting her balance with nature. David told her the fridge was sorted by her mother and apologized again about the breakfast.</p> <p>After 12, while we were peacefully sitting reading on the deck, on Sunday she came to our unit ,unlucky number 3, apologized but said that my presence was interfering with her being in tune with nature and we had to leave. Upon asking how is this supposed to work she said she spoke to Daddy's deals and they would refund us. They were closed so I sent them a mail. David requested that she gives us something in writing, which she refused saying she was not a cheat. A nightmare to find accommodation on a Sunday in peak season!!!!</p> <p>Monday while travelling to JHB, I phoned Daddy's deals. Said they had to get in touch with Sue and come back to us. Tuesday David phoned Sue. She said she overreacted due to losing her daughter, not sure when, and she would tell Daddy's deals to refund us. David then phoned DD who said they have not heard from her but will get back to us. Later that afternoon we were told Sue says we could have half back. We then had to do a mail explaining everything and attached photographs and still no joy.</p> <p>Bottom line- be very careful of these specials. I will most definitely not use daddy's deals again. It has cost us a lot of money and no one is willing to do anything.</p> <p>The photos show some of what we had to just accept. There was no dishcloth to dry dishes. The fridge drawer had a slip in dated Sept'16?? The kitchen tap came out when you tried to use it. The extra bedroom, which we had no use for, is actually 2 bunk beds in the kitchen, the lodge overlooks a tiny river and a main road with lots of traffic, the kitchen floor tiles were broken and you could see right through them and so the list goes on.
