step DADDY'S DEAL

1) I bought a voucher from Daddy’s Deal

2) I made a booking with Intibane Bush Lodge for 15 & 16 October. They accepted.

3) When I double-checked a week before, they said they had no such booking; then later they said they did.

4) I went there on the 15th.driving 200km from Dbn but Sbu could not find my booking & told me they had overbooked

5) He also said the units were not quite ready and basic and that they had been phoning people to cancel/postpone

6) The pool was empty, the dining area was under renovation. Guests came to the desk to report leaks in the shower and a broken bed!

7) I did not check-in as they could not accommodate me properly

8) I had a glass of very expensive free juice and left within 15 minutes.

9) I then went to Hluhluwe and booked into the Protea hotel there

10) On Tuesday I asked Daddy’s deal for a refund and compensation for my hotel bill & fuel costs

11) It has not been forthcoming yet, 2 weeks later but Intibane had the audacity to say we had stayed the entire weekend and even enjoyed the game drive!

12) What an audacious lie. A game drive was not even included in the offer

All Intibane has to do is make a similar affidavit saying :

1) that I did check-in

2) state the unit I allegedly stayed in

3) state the number of guests in my party & their names

4) provide a copy of the sign-in register (by law I have to sign in)

5) state how many meals I had there & provide receipts

6) provide a copy of the waiver I/we would have had to sign to go on the alleged game drive

7) state who else went on that game drive and when it occurred.

8) Provide any photos or witnesses to prove I stayed there

I will then provide my credit card statements proving that I did check into Hluhluwe Protea

And that I left for Durban on Sunday (paying at the tolls with the credit card)

So I could not have been there for the weekend.

I want a full refund plus my hotel and fuel bill settled

In response to Mr Kathrada's review please note the following:

1. Mr Kathrada's claim of a 2 week waiting period for a refund is inaccurate. Mr Kathrada submitted his request for a refund on Tuesday 18th October; the query was viewed on Thursday 20th due to our standardised 24 - 48 working hours response time. The refund was processed on Tuesday 25 October, totalling a 1 week turn around time on this matter.

2. On investigation by Daddy's Deals management, the claim by the merchant, Intibane, that Mr Kathrada had stayed the full weekend was an unfortunate misunderstanding. Mr Kathrada had previously dealt with this merchant on another deal (a game viewing experience) and had included his feedback on this deal in his refund request email. A subsequent email was sent to Mr Kathrada wherein this error was explained, along with confirmation that the deal refund would be paid to Mr Kathrada.

Daddy's Deals has apologised to Mr Kathrada for the frustration caused, and views this matter as resolved.

As per emails sent, and reconfirmed on 31 October, the refund was paid back via the chosen method of payment (credit card) on 26 October. As stated, refunds can take up to 6 working days to reflect. Proof of refund was also sent to Mr Kathrada.
