Daddy's deals and Total Garage

I went to Total Bonjour Watloo with a daddy's deal voucher. Before I took anything, I inquired if the voucher can be used on petrol and the Male attendant at the till said yes. I went to gather 6 items which totaled R81 and some odd cents. Before the cashier rang up the goods I advised that I will be using the balance of the R200 for petrol. Balance would be R118 and some cents. He then totaled the goods and printed the slip. There was no petrol on the slip only the goods of R81 and cents. The other cashier now, also trying to assist. I advised them that the balance needed to be used for petrol. They said they cannot put the code in again. I asked what I should do, they advised that I can put in the petrol and they will explain because they know what is going on. I went to put the R118 petrol and advised the female attendant that we already settled the bill inside, she said ok. We then drove off.

A few days later The police shows up at my parents house wanting to arrest us for theft. My husband went to the garage to find out what the problem is. After being treated like a ********, he ended up paying the R118 cash. Not everyone has extra money to throw around like that. Total employees says we need to contact Daddy's deals for another voucher code for the R118. What they did to us is unacceptable and threatening. we sitting at work traumatized because we might go to jail for a crime that was never committed. A ******** case of theft was opened up against us for theft of petrol we have no ******** record at all and this could of costed us our jobs as you can't have a ******** record in the industry that we work. The word could get around very fast to our employers, business partners, or customers. This is very is unacceptable as we are frequent clients of the voucher system as well as that same garage The fault lies with the training and knowledge of the staff.

Total head office then called a few days after the incident and offered a R500 voucher and i was not happy about this because its not about the money, it's about the way we were treated and that they sent the police to our house and tried to open a case of theft. I asked the lady to email everything so that we have her details because we will not let this go. no email received except an sms with a voucher code and no contact details just an expiry date. Daddy's deals emailed to ask if we have been contacted and i rep****, "Someone from TOTAL head office called yesterday and offered a R500 voucher and nothing about our cash refund which we had to pay out of our pocket. I advised her that unfortunately we are not going to leave this because of the impact it made and the way they went about sending the police to my parents residence. Our jobs and reputation is not worth R500. I requested she send an email with all details. We then received an sms with a voucher code and no other details. No email as well. They called from a private number so we also cannot contact them which means they don't care what we do about the situation." This reply was never rep**** to even after a followed up 2 weeks later. its another week, no news

A charge of theft is immediate dismissal in the industry which we work.
