Very underhand practise of delivering younger vintages than those advertised
Ordering is fairly simple and works well, as does delivery - which is fast. The high prices charged for the wines they sell are normally (partially) offset by regular discounts, which merely bring the prices down to normal levels. However, there is one very annoying aspect of their service which, were it not for a little clause hidden away in their Ts&Cs (and who on earth digs deep into the small print when buying wine, for goodness sake?!?), would be tantamount to *****: They regularly deliver vintages which are different (younger) to those advertised. They even confirm the customer's order based on the vintages advertised - even to the point of the final email when the order is out for delivery. So the customer thinks s/he is getting what was ordered, but no. Where else in retail would you get away with this? Everyone who knows anything about wine knows that a wine can vary a great deal from vintage to vintage. I want to know if the wine advertised is not actually available - don't tell me when it's too late!! Really not happy with this and they make no effort whatsoever to dish up good customer service when confronted with this appalling practice. It can not, in this digital age, be that difficult to let the customer know that the vintage ordered isn't actually what is available - and adjust the website product pages accordingly. Very shabby.
