Idiots at Customs

I wonder about the employment criteria at Customs...

Ordered a leather repair kit from the US (as nothing similar is available locally), with the total costs coming to R2,800 odd, with the product itself only around R700, with the rest allocated to delivery fees, as we urgently needed it.

The idiots at Customs then first wanted me to pay and additional penalty of R1,000, then tried to ****** it from the US supplier, saying we are misleading them as the product is only costing R700, and wanted to know why it shows as a R2,800 transaction.

If they had the decency to leave me with a number or email address I would have explained to the bunch of dumb wits that the rest of the cost was not product related, but the delivery courier fees.

To me it sounds like someone looking for a quick bit of money, and playing dumb for the sake of it, as I really hope they aren’t really as stupid over there.
