Bad workmanship, even worse after sales service.
Very bad experience. Ordered and paid for an 8 seater Kiaat table mid December 2023. Table was delivered early February 2024. Immediately noticed poor workmanship - centre panel too long and jutting out, huge crack in one panel, *****s underneath falling out, bottom of table wood not sanded nor sealed, panels separating in various places leaving gaps that are still growing, metal legs scratched, table legs starting to warp becoming a hazard to use. Informed the owner and sent pictures, however she ignored our emails and messages left on blue ticks. 22 February 2024 she finally responded on WhatsApp stating she is in the process of making a new table for us to which I asked for a delivery date. We have since been ghosted yet again with zero response from her, even after threatening legal action. Think twice before using this company, we are appalled at the bad quality, workmanship and blatant lack of customer service. Quick to take your money but horrible at treating her costumers with respect. We are left with a table we cannot use, where’s the decency and pride ask?!
Iv’e recently had to enlist the help of a carpenter to fix my table which put me out a further few thousands of rands! Thankfully he did an amazing job but did inform me of the following:
1. The table is indeed Saligna wood and not Kiaat wood as advertised and promised.
2. The construction of the table was done so poorly and whilst the wood planks were wet which caused massive shrinkage in areas. The wood was not kiln dried before hand.
3. So many of the incorrect nails were used it made the wood split.
Outtake - do your research before supporting a business with your hard earned money!!!
