Cancelation fee

I was a member at curves untill recently when I got there I was told I'm not allowed to do my own thing or jog outside because its not part of curves. I asked to cancel my contract which I renewed in feb this year, the lady said she doesnt wanna give the cancelation form and said I mustnt think its about me infront of other members even went on and on in afrikaans to them. Eventually she gave the form, following day I was told I have to pay R1210.50 plus give a month's notice because I just renewed my contract which they failed to stick to it because they failed to deduct the amount on it and deducted a different one. Now what I wanna know is why should I pay for such service? Pay to cancel mean time they are the ones that failed me as their client. Pay to be treated unfairly? I did tell the owner about the whole thing and the attitude of the staff member via email, its been a week now and she never came back to me. And to prove its their attitude there are members who are cancelling and others are not renewing their contracts. Even the beggining of Feb I never wanted to renew it because their drama and have preference treatment for certain members.
