curtain floors and blind design workshop misleads customers

I purchased blinds from Curtain, Floors and Blind Design Workshop from their store in Pineslopes Fourways and had a bad experience. The way they conduct business is dishonest and misleading. The deposit of 80% is not aligned to the standard practice of 50% and balance payment upon delivery of goods.

The company does not disclose full information about the terms of purchase, i.e. payment terms for the balance and warranty before the deposit of 80% was paid. Information about payment of the balance is only disclosed on the tax invoice after paying the deposit and the customer has no way of knowing what the terms are unless they ask, which is dishonest as 'you dont know what you dont know'. When I asked to pay the balance upon delivery and installation of the blinds, they refused and it took a lot of effort to have them eventually installed. Full payment is required before you see and receive your product and get it installed and there is no information on recourse to the customer should they not be satisfied about the product. No formal quote was provided and the invoice does not provide any information about a warranty.

This seems to be the practice among blind and curtain shops - another one that operates this way is the Curtain and Bline Workshop in Kramerville, Sandton
