***** Unjust R2800 Wall Damage Charge at Curro Fores****

In 2023, a R2800 charge for wall damage was added to my account at Curro without my knowledge or consent. I only discovered the charge when it appeared on my statement. I immediately contacted the vice principal, the accounts department, and requested a call or meeting for clarity. The only response I received was a copy of the invoice and a vague statement that I had been “informed.”

I followed up via email (3 Oct 2024), explaining I had no record of this incident and asked for a meeting. The response was a statement that didn’t even cover the charge date. I was later told (4 Oct) that I had been notified—with no proof, just an internal note between staff.

My last conversation with the vice principal was a dropped call in November 2023, followed by unanswered messages and emails. I had a Zoom call with the principal a month after the incident regarding my son’s academic progression, with no mention of any damage or charges. At no point did I receive a formal explanation, invoice, or evidence of responsibility.

Eventually, I found out the wall was damaged by another child during unsupervised play involving my son and other students. I even saw a video of it on social media, but I couldn’t save it and don’t know who posted it. Yet I’m being billed—and interest continues to accumulate monthly. My son is no longer at the school, and I have paid all legitimate outstanding fees. Despite multiple calls and messages since October 2024, Curro has ignored all attempts to resolve this.

This is completely unacceptable—being charged without notification or evidence, then ignored for almost 2 years.
