Unfairly treated by Curro Heuwelkruin

It is rather sad that we have to rate on this app, because I do feel the school I am rather unhappy with deserves any rating at all. Earlier this year, I send an early application for my grade 1 son to be admitted into the school, he was put on the waiting list for grade R 2019 and grade 1 2020. Only now do I realize that, that was a waste of my time and resources following up as I have been passed from pillar to post regarding my son's application. Realizing that there was no joy, with regards thereof, I decided to send my mom to visit the school in person to enquire about the application as the year was coming to an end, and we needed to understand what the issue was. To our dismay, we were told we are number 5 in line for applications, which did not make any sense, because we have been on the list for an entire year, for the current and the following year. We were told to follow up on the 30th November which was a Saturday, so we decided to wait for the Monday. Upon calling on the Monday, we were told our son was now 7th in place for admission, which took me by surprise, and when I asked the reason for that, I was told that the chances are very slim that he would get in as siblings of kids who are already in the school are given priority, and anyone who applies is shifted down. I was also told that grade 1 had smaller classes than grade R, which leaves me to believe this school does not take any new learners each year. The numerous times I had called and followed up, it has proved fruitless, as the mails only kept saying my son was on the waiting list, and it was rather disappointing that the person who I had been communicating the entire year with got impatient with me, when I highlighted the fact that it did not make sense that a school could not have new learners for a grade at all, and if they were new, they needed to be siblings of learners who are already in the school. This has rather been a tasteless experience with this school, perhaps the admissions team treating us unfairly was just what we needed to realize that this school is not a perfect fit for our son.
