Open Day Concepts - Sold a Lie!!

I’m disappointed and dissatisfied with the level of unorganized education at Rivonia Curro.

When we visited the school at their open day we were told they are a modern fully digitalised school. Handouts, homework, projects all is done on the Microsoft My School platform and the school required each parent to invest in devices etc.

As a Microsoft Pilot School, I expected that I will be fully in touch with my child’s progress, have direct access to teachers and class activities.

This is all a lie! Future parents!! This concept do not exist and are not fully enforced!

The school is small, have one grade 6 class and struggle to deliver a standard that is on par with established schools. It’s another pop-up establishment with no plan.

If you raise your opinion or speak to your child’s class representative you are told you are using the platform incorrectly. The PTA is practically non-existent.

I moved my child to this school for the reason they have small classes and they are a digital school (or so they say). I expected he will receive a level of quality education I cannot get at other established schools and allow me to keep track of his progress and needs.

What I was not informed:

- Children share a teacher with all grades. - Teacher teach up to 5 different subjects for different grades. - The digital platform is optional for teachers to use.

When I raised my opinions to the Grade 6 parent representative, I was told the school is still new and working towards being established. I was told that I should not listen to other parents who complain and speak to the principle directly.

I was told in an email by the principle that what they do sell to parents as a fact the digital concept, however it is actually not yet reality. He did invite me to speak to him.

I’ve now app**** to other schools in the area, hoping for a slot. In the meantime, I pray my child do not get bul**** or victimized while we wait to get him out. I as well pray he doesn’t fall behind even more on established standards.

This was the worst decision I made. My child is suffering the consequences.
