DELAY IN GIVING REFUND OR REPLACING 2ND HAND UNIT

An UPS/Inverter (R8605) was ordered, paid for and delivered by courier. It arrived on Monday 15th December. On Wednesday 17th December I phoned and emailed the salesman with the the following info:<br> 'The cardboard Meanwell box is old and faded, and the unit's chassis paintwork is scratched - particularly on the bottom mounting holes. Clearly, you have sent us a second-hand/used unit !! I attach some photos illustrating the condition of the box and chassis. If you can replace the unit with a new one a.s.a.p. (with collection/delivery at your expense) I would be most grateful.' The salesman assured me that when stocks arrived in the New Year this item would be replaced. We waited and In March we spoke to Cariska Botha who told us the salesman had resigned but that something would be done if we sent all details (copies of emails, photos and invoice). Three more weeks have passed and we are being offered a credit instead of a full refund. I refused this offer by email on 1st April due to our ignorance of prior usage on this 2nd hand unit and our need for a reliable unit particularly as we are pensioners living in a remote village with no access to repair facilities.
