Terrible service at Kloof Cure Day Clinic - Dr Riel De La Bat

<p>After Opthalmologist Dr Niemandt left the country after giving my son vision imparing drops and asked Dr De La Bat to fill in for him.</p> <p>My husband sat and waited 40 min at Dr De la Bat’s practice only to be told that he wanted to examine my son under sedation and would require a signed document if we did not want to follow this process. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do and was under the impression that my son was 3 years old although he is 19 months old. </p> <p>He also treated my husband very poorly (asking upon his arrival if he was one of those pop-in clients). He explained that he could not provide assistance without my husband informing him of the name of the drops given by Niemandt. Dr de La Bat agreed to stand in for a colleague but failed to ascertain even the basic information (patient age, medication administered) and then left the consultation room without even saying goodbye or leaving further instructions. My husband had to ask one of the receptionists what he was supposed to do next, while he was sitting with an already irritable and hungry baby.</p> <p> </p> <p>This unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour at Dr De La Bat’s practice (who agreed to stand in for Dr Niemandt) is shocking. We expected more from the doctors practicing at Cure Day Clinics and certainly wont make that mistake again</p>
