Old paradigms institutionalised
Our two teenage kids had their wisdom teeth removed 1 month apart. We notice that African patients are attended to last, which means our kids are starved by the end of the day. When I pointed this out, we were told it's according to age, when I pointed out that there were two others who were older but went first, they responded saying they just follow the list. Cure day was supposed to be an empowerment option, so it is disappointing to see this unpleasant trend. Please treat humans as humans. The staff were pleasant though.

03 Nov 2020, 15:04Good afternoon. I apologise that you feel your children were kept hungry due to their ethnicity, this is absolutely not true. All patients regardless of age, race or gender are kept nil per mouth ahead of surgery being scheduled and can eat post operatively when they feel able to do so.
