Cure day clinic Bellville - ***********, NEGLIGENT POOR SERVICE

My son was at Cure Day Clinic Bellville for a minor operation - Grommets - on the 10/8/2017, Name of patient: Mr DR Louw, Membership Number: ********** 40

The 9/8/2017 was a public holiday. I tried calling my medical aid for a authorisation number on this public holiday, but they were not available.

With admission, I asked the reception lady, about the authorisation number. She told me that they have 48 hours to obtain it and that they will do it. I waited in the waiting room and before we went into the ward, I asked her again. She confirmed that I need not worry, they will get the authorisation number from my medical aid.

On 21/8/2017 I received an email from my medical aid stating that there will be no payment for the claim. I called my medical aid and was informed that no one requested an authorisation number. Because this was more than 48 hours past the date of the procedure, the only solution they had for me was to backdate and try and get a authorisation number so that they can try and pay 70% of the claim.

I then called Cure Day Clinic Bellville and explained the situation to the reception lady. There was no resolve so asked to speak to the matron. Ezette investigated the situation. She said that they did call my medical aid for an authorisation number and that she doesn't know why, but they never got a number. After MANY phonecalls, Ezette promised me that they will write off the 30%, because she understands that it is Cure Day Clinics fault.

I never heard from anyone again and trusted that this was resolved.

On 30/4/2018 I received an sms stating that it is the final demand and Cure Day Clinic will be handing over my account for the amount of R1407.11. I immediately called and advised Head Office about the situation. They said they will call the Matron and that they are making a note of it.

I then received a phone call - from someone else who was yet again uninformed. There was no notes. I again explained the situation and the person said that they will resolve the matter with Cure Day Clinic Bellville.

Now, on Friday, 7/9/2018, I received an sms that my account was handed over by Cure Day Clinic Bellville. I was not even aware that this has not been resolved!!!!

I tried calling Matron Ezette the whole of Friday, she still hasn't called me back. The receptionist kept on telling me that her line is busy. I then sent her an email, explaining all of the above. She rep**** and said she was out of office for a couple of days. She also said in the email that she can REMEMBER that they had to get authorisation from my medical aid on the day of the procedure but she DENIES promising me that she will write off the 30%. She also goes on ACCUSING me that I never got back to them to make payment arrangements - she completely fails to acknowledge that I was unaware of the outstanding money, as I was promised by HER that she will resolve the matter.

Ezette keeps on telling me that it is my responsibility to get an authorisation nr from my medical aid, but ON BLACK AND WHITE SHE ADMITS, in an email of late, that she can remember that they were supposed to get an authorisation nr for me. Because of Cure Day Clinics negligence and incompetence and NO communication, I am blacklisted. After a year and 2 months this is the first I heard from them. After a year and two months, there has been no resolve.

How do companies get away with things like this???
