Manager from Hell

Cubaña, Florida Road, Morningside, Durban

I'll try make this as brief and to the point as possible. We decided to go out for some drinks with some friends as we were celebrating Neo's birthday (One of the friends). The incident happened on Sunday 29 September 2019, we arrived at the venue around 9 p.m and honestly speaking the service was satisfactory from the time we walked in until the incident occurred.

The waiter checked on us from time to time and got our orders correct, half way through our evening I decided to order Neo a Flaming Lamborghini. When the waiter finally brought the drink we realized it was not setup in the usual manner that were used to, as were used to all the shots being poured into the glass individually while the the drink is set alight and the individual who ordered it drinks as fast as they can. Unfortunately at this particular Cubaña, they premix it for you then come with 1 shot glass filled with with 2 shots in it and charge R90 for that, when we saw it we then raised our concerns and specified that they setup our next order in a manner that were used to for the next Flaming Lamborghini that I was planning to order for the birthday boy, the waiter and his accomplice agreed to doing as we had requested and everything went back to normal.

Towards the end of our evening, I then decided to order the 2nd Flaming Lamborghini, waiter took my order, went ahead and placed it then carried on serving other clients, this time our order took quite long, the waiter finally returns to our table without the order and tells us that they cannot make the Flaming Lamborghini in the manner that we want, with all the shots in their own shot glasses, seemed a bit odd to me so I told the waiter that in that case, we do not want the drink any longer and that we would like to pay the bill and make our way home.

The waiter then tells me that the drink had already been made, so we ask him who's fault that was as were very specific after the first order, he said the guys at the bar, I then asked him to void the order as I was not willing to pay for it, we then asked him to call the manager. The came to our table, no greeting, with a terrible attitude, he wasn't even friendly, he seemed rather annoyed by us that we had requested his presence, we explained to him, what had happened and told him that the Cubaña in Fourways, Johannesburg makes the drinks in a manner that we're used to, without an apology he just looked at us and said, "We do things differently around here, if you go to 1 house you can't expect the people in the 2nd house to do things like those in 1st house", then he walked away. For people were spending R1162. 00 on drinks alone, that's one way not to speak to them as a manager. We paid the bill, even gave the waiter his 10% tip and made our way home. Apparently the manager's name is Senzo and something should be done about his arrogance, he's rude and he doesn't deserve to be a manager, not with that attitude.
