Public Complaint about CSOS

The CSOS (Community Schemes Ombud Service) is unfortunately failing South African citizens. Owners are forced to pay contributions every month, yet in return CSOS cannot even provide a reasonable dispute resolution service (note: I didn’t even say “quality,” just reasonable).

Meanwhile, many Body Corporates are operating completely outside the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act (STSMA). Mismanagement by trustees is rife, and instead of correcting it, CSOS seems to turn a blind eye.

The way I see it, CSOS is no better than our government in dealing with *******ion — which makes sense, since it’s a government body. They complement our dysfunctional government perfectly. We don’t need another failed institution draining money from citizens while protecting the very people they are supposed to hold accountable.

In fact, I honestly wish they would close their doors and stop taking money from owners. They are clearly not improving — like most government organisations, they exist more in name than in function.

What’s worse is that trustees and politicians seem to operate in exactly the same way: *******ion and self-interest first, accountability last. And CSOS? Instead of being the watchdog, it behaves like the “protector” of ******* trustees, much like our so-called “public protector” has shielded ******* politicians.

South Africa doesn’t need more *******ion. We need real oversight, real enforcement, and real accountability. My plea: if CSOS cannot do its job, then stop pretending and stop taking our money. Right now, you are making things worse.
