Rude front staff and double standards

We booked a 4 sleeper and being on the road over 8 hours, we eventually arrived late afternoon but were told by the very rude and *********** Paul (PRO) that we may not check-in because we are 3 adults and the booking is for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 - his reasoning is that 3 people were overcrowding a 4 sleeper.

My daughter is 1.5m tall and weighs 32kgs. She is also diabetic and cannot stay alone as indicated to Paul, his assistant and his reception staff.

His only solution was that we may not check-in and had to vacate the property and lose payment since there were no other units available. Sarcastically I said then I'll sleep in my car - in a serious tone he rep**** ,Yes you can - but outside the security gates off the premises ... he then quickly added that Pilgrim's Rest hotel is 30km away and Mount Sheba as an alternative. Not once did he offer to call any of these places to find out if these can even accommodate us.

This meant after driving the entire day I had to leave my diabetic daughter and wife alone in the unit and go driving blindly in a locality I have no idea looking for a place to sleep. We were dog tired and frustrated and it was already getting dark and raining.

After Paul gave us a lecture on how a stand up family man he is and understand our situation, and he and his assistant were satisfied after embarrassing and humiliating us enough in the lobby in front of other guests we managed to find another unit. We had to make calls to make arrangements to pay for an extra unit.

Staying elsewhere was not an option as we would lose our payment for the Crystal Springs unit, so we ended up paying for 2 units and my daughter stayed with us in the one unit anyway (she is young girl alone and diabetic) and *********** Paul had no problem with her staying with us in the same unit and leaving hte other one empty as long as he received the extra payment.

We later found out that the manager on duty was not Paul but someone else but Paul presented himself as the manager

Crystal Springs is a lovely place but *********** rude front desk representatives like Paul ranks this the worst place we have ever stayed.
