The Wedding Ring

<p>On the 24th of June at around 06h40am in the morning as a guest at this hotel for six nights (19th to 25th June 2016), I forgot my wedding ring on a bath towel on the bed as I was running late for work. At around 07:05am, I phoned the hotel front desk and asked that they kindly inform the housekeeping lady of my wedding left on the bath towel as I was worried that she'll grab it with the dirty towels into the laundry bin. Well the man at the other end of the line assured me after some questioning that he'll do just as I've asked but will take the ring for safe keeping as it is standard hotel procedure.</p> <p>Relieved, I went through my day with assurance that on my return my ring will be readily available. On my arrival back at the hotel I got a letter signed by "Cynthia Qithi" informing me that my ring has been found and I must call housekeeping and they'll bring it to me, I've got to say that the "Lost & Found" words on the letter did raise my eyebrows but I still thoughts it's probably standard hotel procedure.</p> <p> </p> <p>On the 25th at 08:30am, I made the call to housekeeping about my ring, was still at peace as the lady on the other end of the line was aware of my ring as she filled up all the senteces and I didn't even have to finish them. She told me that she'll send it up. 09:00am Iwent to check out as I had an 11h00am flight to Upington, and I asked the lady at reception to contact house keeping as they still have not sent my ring. With a very disturbed face she told me that they are still looking and I have to wait on the couch as the lady that kept it is not at work but on her way. 30 minutes later I went back but the lady that told me to wait was not there and I spoke to another man at the reception, he went back to make a call and came back asked if I mind them couriering the ring to me, I was really getting annoyed and I ask why go through the cost if I'm here and you can just give me my ring and I leave. He stated that the lady (by now she had a name "Zanele") that kept the ring is on her way to work and I asked him why doesn't she just tell you where the ring is and you fetch it and hand it to me.</p> <p> </p> <p>By this time I was starting to realise that my ring was not at the hotel and all of them were trying to buy time for their colleague whom probably is not the first time she does what is been done to me hence the other lady looked very disturbed and annoyed. In my mind two things were running, I'm going to miss my flight and "Zanele" is busy running around Johannesburg looking for a **** that looks exactly like my ring and also a buyer for my ring, so the courier option will have been a win win option for her and her friends.</p> <p>In short, I realised that I was going to miss my flight and I'm not going to get my ring especially because they new I had a flight to catch at 11:00, so I left the hotel and to this day have not heard from them with regards to my ring and don't have my wedding ring</p>
