Expired laybye during lockdown

I made a laybye at the Promanade cross trainer store in Cape Town. The laybye was made on the 17 of December. Unfortunately I lost the receipt. On the 24 of March I phoned the store because I wasn't sure of the laybye expiry date. The lady that I spoke to said it was some time in April. And at the time I couldn't go to the store for the laybye. So I thought I'll get it after lockdown. Now I want to cancel the laybye. When I went to the store I was told I can't cancel the laybye because the expiry day has passed even though the date was during the lockdown. What can I do now? Should I let my money end up with the store or what happens now?
