SOMEWHAT CRIPPLING CRESTA EXPERIENCE
SOMEWHAT CRIPPLING CRESTA EXPERIENCE As I walk with a crutch, I am always on the lookout for disabled parking, particularly at shopping malls. In my quest for said parking at Cresta this past Saturday, I had a most edifying experience. Now while Cresta has disabled parking, senior citizen parking and even family parking spots all over their show, all of these seem to have AWOL in the somewhat murky approach to Entrance 7 (from whence you can find your way down to Mr Price, etc.) What the esteemed Mall does have, however, right up close and personal to the entrance, more conveniently situated than many disabled parking spots I have seen, are three VIP parking spots! I parked in in one, hobbled forth to Woollies where I pondered the conundrum over tea and scones and on returning to my parking spot, walked around a little to make sure that I have not missed the ubiquitous painted yellow wheelchair on the ground or some such more upstanding sign. I did not find any. This could be due to any number of reasons; there are no disabled parking; in the rather dark upper level, the allocated parking is not clearly indicated or, perhaps, that Entrance 7 is the Entrance to Be when you’re a VIP… (Wow, I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it!) Jokes aside, the situation is questionable and unacceptable. If there is no disabled parking, it should be allocated. If it is there and not clearly indicated, this should be rectified. (And while you’re at it, make sure it’s at least as close as or closer than the VIP parking.) PS: Thank you, Cresta, for making me feel, if not quite like a queen for day, a VIP for an hour!
