Poor service all around

Cresta Mall Customer Service Needs Attention

I live in the Cresta area, so Cresta Mall is my go-to shopping centre. Unfortunately, the customer service experience in many of the stores has become extremely disappointing.

I want to make it clear that this is not about race. I am Black myself. My concern is about customer service, professionalism and basic respect for customers.

In several stores, even on quiet days, customers are left standing in long queues while staff talk amongst themselves or have personal conversations across the tills. At times, it even feels as though customers are being discussed while standing right there. That is simply not acceptable in a retail environment.

There are, however, stores that show what good customer service should look like. Le Creuset and CUM Books have consistently given me a much better experience. Their staff are helpful, professional and actually make you feel like a valued customer.

Today I visited Mr Price Home, and honestly, I left extremely disappointed. Woolworths at the mall has also become a disappointment for me.

Cresta is a busy shopping centre, and many of us choose it because it is convenient and close to home. We should not have to accept poor service simply because it is our local mall.

I am not trying to attack anyone personally. I am asking management and the individual stores to seriously look at their customer-service standards, staff training and how customers are treated. 90% of the staff are blacks only. And thats not fare at all.

We deserve better service at Cresta Mall.
