Debt settlement

I have been trying to get in contact with Creditors worx for long now. The number always rings. I have a school debt from Boston for 8 years now the statement keeps changing. We try make payments and we still get nowhere. I now owe R17k which doesn’t make sense to me. Every time they harass my mother who is the account holder and they refuse to take my calls as the account payer. I work and I can only afford min to pay but it seems we getting no where. They refuse to give us settlement. Because this is all nonsense!!! I need someone in management to get back to me with an answer because clearly we are paying Ghosts!!
