Creditworx SARS **** (aka Credit Clear)

I've received calls from a number identified as Creditworx (via TrueCaller on my phone), although they answer as Credit Clear when you return their calls. The call starts by me having to confirm my identity (which they apparently already have all the details for), whereafter I am informed that they are a legal firm, that SARS has initiated legal proceedings against me, and that I have 48 hours to pay a fine to avoid prosecution. When I ask them to email me the details, so I may pass this on to our accountant, they ask for my email address and agree to send me all the details. The e-mail never arrives, and a week or so later they call again with the same story.

I am not now, nor have I ever been in debt counseling, greylisted, blacklisted, pink-slipped or whatever newfangled threats they come up with. My accountant has no idea what they are on about, neither does my bank.

I've tried reporting them via the SARS ***** hotline, but I've never managed to obtain the caller's company registration number.

Someone should do something about this. And shame on them for ******** their own people.
