Can't tell me what the debt is for and giving me false numbers to call.

In this day and age of phishing, I am not about to give anyone my ID number or details over the phone unless I know what it is connection with. Creditworx who finally answered their phone after and hour of calling and being disconnected, finally explained they were a debt collection agency and it was in connection to the corporate account of he company that employs me. I asked her to give me details on the debt amount and what it was for but she refused to assist me unless i provided her with my date of birth or ID Number. I am not about to be shoved onto a record for further harassment for an account that is not mine. When I expressed my reluctance to hand over personal details until I knew what it was about, she proceeded to tell me she could not supply the information and that she was just an external debt collector that dealt with clients and not corporate accounts. She told me I could speak to NRA for further details. I asked her what NRA meant and she did not know what it stood for and gave me a telephone number that doesn't even ring. No one answers the phone of the holding company for Creditworx until 15 minutes have passed and then you are immediately disconnected. How is anyone expected to pay a debt if the debt collection agency cannot answer the call, disconnects/hangs up on you and can't tell you what the debt is. I give up.
