Debt Review - Poor Service leaving me Worse Off

My husband was retrenched in March 2018 and subsequently we have incurred a lot of debt. We started exploring Debt Review and got hold of Credit Smart. Compared to the other companies that we contacted, Credit Smart was exceptional in following up and chasing me for answers - which I now realize was only a sales pitch. I sent through the documentation through to them on Thursday, 24 October - I have it on Whats App messenger to confirm that a) we will still be continuing this month (November) with the normal installments & premiums and b) that the process will be effective as from 26 November. The documentation sent did not even have all the necessary details. During the process, the sales person, said that we will have to open a new account. I asked why is this necessary and he confirmed that it is not compulsory, but advisable. The notice was then sent through to the creditors on Friday, 25 October (same day my salary was paid into my account). As told to the sales person, I transferred the installment to my Credit Card as agreed. I subsequently received an e-mail to explain that I still have a lot of documentation outstanding, but that the Debt Councillor will contact me to explain everything, I requested if she can contact me after 16:00 on Friday afternoon, on which I was told it is not possible. On my way home I did receive a call - but did not have my hands free with me, so I did send a message to the Debt Councillor to advise that I can't talk, on which we agreed that she will phone me on Monday (I must just let her know of a time that suits me). On Monday, 28 October in the morning - I still had funds available in both my Credit Card & Cheque account. I logged in around lunch time (13:00), just to see that there is NO FUNDS left in my account. I frantically contacted the Debt Councillor - on which I was told, yes that happens. That is why I MUST get a new bank account. I told the debt Councillor that I was told it was advisable, not Compulsory. She also asked why I paid my credit card, on which I said I specifically told the sales person that everything will go on as normal for this month ****il my installment can be confirmed). How would I be able to get a new bank account, arrange with my Payroll to update my bank account, change all my debit order from the 24th to the 25th of the month? Subsequently, the Debt Councillor sent through a withdrawal notice (on Tuesday, 29 October)- but up until today my funds is not available again. As explained to both the sales person AND The debt councilor - I am the only income for our family. I need to pay school fees, rates and taxes, electricity. With everything I had to downscale the lady that assists me in my house to only 2 days a week - I can't pay her. She is also the only income in her house, so she now has the risk to loose her rental accommodation as well. I have followed up with e-mails and Whats apps, but the only response I get is that it will take 5-10 working days? Who will reimburse me the funds for the rejected debit orders? I followed up again this morning - on which she rep**** she will phone them. Surely working with creditors, you have a few specific people that can assist you with this. I do realize that we incurred the debt, but isn't a debt review company supposed to assist us - not leave us worse off after we have dealt with them. There was absolutely no communication between the sales person and the actual debt councilor. I have included the Managing Director in all my e-mail communication from Tuesday - I have not had ANY feedback. I just hope that with this review - I can save someone else, already in a dire situation and at the end of your rope from our experience with Credit Smart.
