CREDIT RESCUE (WYNBERG BRANCH) IS A ****!!
I signed up for debt review removal in November 2024 and paid a fee of R6,000, completing all required steps by January 2025. After that, the company went quiet. I was the one who spent hundreds of rands on airtime doing follow-ups. I was told that their attorney had suffered a bereavement and that once he returned from the Eastern Cape, he would take my case to court to secure a date soon, and so forth. After that, there was silence again for a long time.
Once more, I followed up. This time I was told they were waiting for my file from Debt Guidance, the company that initially placed me under debt review. I asked, “Why only now? What have you been doing all this time if you don’t even have my file? What was the attorney working on?” There was no clear answer — only apologies and no accountability.
I continued to wait until I finally ran out of patience. When I called again for an update — as I always had to — the answer remained the same. I then asked what I could do to help speed up the process of obtaining my file from Debt Guidance. They suggested I contact them directly.
I paid a fee of about R800 to get my file from Debt Guidance and sent the proof to Credit Rescue, who promised to call me with an update. As usual, they never did, until I reached out again. That’s when I was told they had requested the file but hadn’t received a response.
I then contacted Debt Guidance myself, and within a week, everything was done — the file was with Credit Rescue. When I asked Debt Guidance why they were giving Credit Rescue a hard time, they told me Credit Rescue had never requested the file — there was no request on their system. To prove this was true, I had to re-sign the power of attorney because so much time had passed. Only then did Credit Rescue actually request my file.
Afterward, I was told the transfer was complete and that they would be in touch. As you might expect, that never happened. Yesterday, I called again to request an update. The lady I spoke to said the file was with the attorney, who would request a court date and get back to me. Later, another consultant told me that the court schedule for this year is already full, and they would only be able to see about it next year — that’s when I lost it.
I requested a transcript of all my calls, especially the initial sales call, where they made all the promises and explained the process. My experience has been the complete opposite of what I was told — R6,000 and 10 months later, with no satisfactory results. They are now refusing to provide the call transcripts, claiming it’s against company policy. When I asked to see that policy, they said no to that as well.
Luckily, we have social media — and I quickly discovered that I’m not the only unhappy client. I truly wish I had looked for online reviews before signing up with them; it would have saved me a lot of heartache.
