Credit Rescue - an Unsolicited Call

Credit Rescue contacted me this morning with an unsolicited enquiry to have my Credit Record reviewed at "No cost to me". I have the following problems with this: 1. How did they get my mobile number? The POPI Act forbids Vodacom [or any other service provider to sell/share my details! 2. The offer was stated as at "no cost", it turns out "one instalment" has to be paid to Credit Rescue. 3. They commit to contact the NCR "on my behalf" to negotiate a possible reduction of 50% in any instalment from any Credit Supplier, how can this be legal, or make any commercial sense with existing Agreements/Contracts in place?

Firstly, we would like to apologize if you were offended by the call.

However, a substantial amount of South Africans is struggling financially and we assist those who requires our assistance. The program we offering is with the ambit of Debt Management Act and it is an Informal Process that does not Blacklist consumers unlike Debt Review.

Regarding the POPI Act all our leads comes via self-generated dialler system and any person/s that does have True Caller on their cell phone can reject any such call and block the number for the future calls. The 50% Reduction to restructure your Debt is called the Debt Restructuring Program and the distribution of all creditors funds are being actioned via a Government appointed PDA(Public Distribution Agency).
