********* BEHAVIOUR
In July 2019, Credit Matters sent an SMS to one of my friends and falsely claimed that "I have given them consent to request a Compuscan Credit report with the objective to perform an affordability assessment relating to my current Debt Exposure". My friend contacted me recently to ask me about the SMS, and I was surprised. He then forwarded the SMS to me. I was so shocked because I had no idea who Credit Matters could be and I had never had any dealings with them before. To make matters worse, they have even included my ID number in the SMS. I think this is very offensive and ********* given that I have never given them the consent that they claim I have.
I tried calling them, and spoken to a lady called Unathi (Cape Town), and I explained to her that the reason for my call was to complain about the company and the SMS that they sent to my friend. In response, she claimed to be new in the company and she was going to transfer me to customer services. The phone rang briefly and then cutoff. I do not think that this conduct by Credit Matters is ethical and acceptable. I wonder what the NCR does about such conduct. VERY DISGUSTED!!!
